Disability-owned. Community-centered.

Why Carrot Top?

We built this company from determination, lived experience, and a belief that people deserve to be heard and treated with care. We bring that same commitment to every property we serve.

A company built through determination

Carrot Top Lawn Care & Maintenance LLC is disability-owned. In 2020, our owner, Dusty, sustained a brain injury. Setbacks came with the territory, but hard work, determination, and a refusal to give up helped him keep moving forward—even when support felt out of reach.

Dusty is capable of doing this work and has led much of the groundwork behind the company, including its development and operations. After facing repeated employment challenges since his injury, he decided to build a company around the work, values, and service he believes in.

Where is he today?

Today, Dusty stands firm in brain injury advocacy at the state and national levels. Dusty will attend his first national conference advocacy event since his injury in 2027—a meaningful step in continuing to speak up for people affected by brain injury.

We support people with all disabilities

Disability does not define a person’s ability, value, or contribution. Dusty’s experience has shaped a company that respects different circumstances and believes people deserve the opportunity to contribute and be treated with dignity.

That perspective also shapes how we work with customers. We listen first, communicate clearly, explain what we see, and focus on practical solutions. Our approach is rooted in honesty, integrity, and communication—taking time to understand a property and its needs instead of treating every yard the same.

Thoughtful care for your property

Our Sacramento-area services help customers care for the whole property, with recommendations based on what we observe and what the customer needs.

  • Lawn care and mowing
  • Core aeration
  • Fertilization
  • Weed control
  • Property maintenance

We aim to make each step clear: understand the request, visit the property, provide a transparent quote, and complete the agreed work with care. If we see a concern, we explain it plainly so the customer can make an informed decision.

A personal reason close to our hearts

Our owner’s sister lives with endometriosis, a disease that causes chronic pain and a range of serious health challenges. It has also prevented her from having children. Her experience is personal to our family and is a major reason this work matters to us.

A meaningful portion of our appointment revenue and monthly earnings goes directly toward her surgery fund. This commitment connects our everyday work to the hope of helping her access the care she needs.

We share this to raise awareness and show why women’s health matters to our family—not to reduce her to a diagnosis. Her strength and her needs are part of the reason we keep building.

Real reasons. A lasting commitment.

Our reasons for doing this are real, and that will never change. We will stay engaged with our community and be there to help when we can. Let’s build something great, together.
